This option is used to specify the weights used in the formula used to score documents:


The rationale behind the weighted formula is to favour documents that contain both qualitative (the part weighted by wPATH) and quantitative (the part weighted by wSBO) information concerned with a given pathway. The score assigned to qualitative information about the pathway is composed of the score given to the mentions of the pathway in general (the part weighted by wGO) and the maximal score given to a reaction from the pathway (the part weighted by wRN). A reaction is a complex concept and thus its score consists of three parts: these correspond to an enzyme catalysing it (see wEC), the compounds acting as substrates/products of the reaction (see wCPD), and the genes encoding the enzyme (see wSCE).
